What a one-counter shop actually needs
A small jewellery shop does not need a chain ERP. It needs a bill the customer can take home, a tag that matches the piece in the tray, and a khata that still shows who owes money after the wedding season. Owners also look this up as free jewellery billing software, gold shop billing software, or sona ki dukaan ka hisaab.
Generic billing apps often stop at quantity times price. A jewellery bill needs metal, purity, gross weight, net weight, and making charges. If those numbers are retyped from a tag into a spreadsheet, the tray and the bill drift apart.
A worked example
One shop. The owner and one salesperson. A customer takes a 22K ring, net weight 8.420 g, and pays part now. The rest is due next month. Record three things in the same place:
- The piece: metal, purity, gross weight, net weight, and making.
- The GST bill, using the tax rates already set for the shop.
- The amount still owed, on that customer's khata, not in a second notebook.
If the salesperson is with the customer, the same bill can be opened on a phone. The owner can open it later on another screen. Both people use their own login. Starter includes two staff logins, and the owner can cap the discount a staff login may give.
What to set up in the first week
- Shop name, GSTIN if you have one, logo, and the tax rates you already charge. SwarnaVyapar does not choose the legal GST rate and does not file the return.
- Today's gold or silver rate before the first bill.
- Tags for pieces you expect to sell soon. You can also type a line on the bill without a tag. Tagging is what ties that ornament to stock when it sells.
- Only the udhaar you still expect to collect. Settled paper can stay in the cupboard.
- One real bill, then the PDF on WhatsApp, before you try to load a year of stock.

What the free plan includes
Starter is ₹0 with no end date: unlimited GST invoices, 100 customer records, 100 live stock tags, unlimited khata, 2 staff logins, 1 gold scheme (10 enrollments), and 5 active girvi loans. Professional is ₹499/month or ₹5,499/year when you need more tags, more staff, AI invoice scan, or loyalty. Business is ₹999/month or ₹10,999/year for a second shop workspace. Enterprise is a custom price. The full table is on pricing.
Free is the wrong plan when the floor already has more than 100 tagged pieces, more than two people billing, or more than one scheme running. Those are limits, not a trial clock.
What this will not do
- File your GST return or replace your CA. You get invoices and GST summaries.
- Offer a bank or NBFC gold loan. Girvi here is the shop's own pledge record.
- Bill with no network. There is no offline billing queue.
- Move stock from one shop to another. Business can hold two shop workspaces. Each keeps its own tags.
If the choice is a program installed on one computer, read browser software versus a desktop package. Side-by-side notes on Excel, Vyapar, and Tally are on the comparison pages.
